For more than a decade, Penang has been part of Aboud’s everyday life. Over time, its streets, shophouses and coastline quietly became part of the way he sees. On My Mind is the first exhibition in which those familiar surroundings have found a direct place in his work.

Rather than representing Georgetown or its heritage architecture, the sculptures are built from memory, observation and everyday experience. The exhibition reflects how a place can gradually influence an artist’s way of making, often without intention.
